The media library plugin allows you to easily attach/re-attach images, group images using gallery objects, tag images, and much more from your WordPress dashboard. The plugin uses native WordPress objects to accomplish these tasks so that you may use existing WordPress functions and plugins on the gallery objects created using this plugin.
For example, gallery objects are automatically saved when you export your WordPress blog. This allows you to seamlessly move all your gallery objects from blog to blog.

New Features of Media Library Plugin 2.4
1. Added “most-used” attachment and gallery tag views to the tag metabox.
You may now view most used post tags, attachment tags, or gallery tags from the tag metabox interface.
2. Permalink support for galleries.
You can now change the permalink name of your galleries. You can also set a base name for your galleries from the Settings >> Permalink menu. The gallery basename will be added before %postname% for all permalink structures that contain post names.
In the example shown below, I have set my gallery base name to shiba-gallery. All my gallery permalinks will now look like –
http://www.shibashake.com/wordpress-theme/shiba-gallery/gallery-name
3. Expanded media and gallery search.
The search media (Media >> Library) and search gallery (Media >> Manage Gallery) user interface have been expanded to include a tag search in addition to the usual title search.
4. Collapsible and movable metaboxes on the Edit Gallery screen.
The tag, category, and thumbnail metaboxes are now collapsible and movable on the Edit Gallery screen. If you want to do this with your own plugin, this article on WordPress metaboxes will show you how.
5. Plugin class wrapper.
Added a class wrapper around the plugin so that it will not disrupt other plugins and vice-versa.
6. AJAX process integration.
Integrated plugin AJAX calls with the main WordPress admin ajax process for greater security.
7. Plugin name change.
Plugin name has been changed from Media Library Plus to Shiba Media Library, so that it better fits with the other plugins on this site.
Thanks to A.M. for many of the suggestions that went into this plugin update.
