A New Look!

by shibashake 4 Comments

On October 20th, I updated the site theme and introduced several other back-end updates. The main reason for these changes is to make the site more responsive to mobile devices.

With the new theme and updates –

  • Galleries and images should automatically size based on device width.
  • Widgets and menus should change and/or reorganize based on device width.

Feel free to check out some pages from your mobile device and let me know what you think.

Pages should also load faster on both desktop and mobile, as well as have a more unified navigation scheme.

I am currently going through the site to fix layout issues and other problems. Please let me know if you cannot find pages, encounter loading problems, or just have input about the new site design.

Many thanks and Happy Halloween!

The Siberian Husky is active, athletic, and built to run.
Thanks for visiting and let us know what you think.

Thanks so much! I tried talking to the rescue that posted him and can’t seem to get too much info 🙁 All I know is that Foxy (getting mixed replies on if Foxy is male or female) is staying in a run at the vets office (s)he was ditched at. So sad! I always get depressed when I hear of animals that aren’t as blessed as ours.

Don’t be too jealous of Z’s maturity – I assure you it is not constant by any means! He has two blankets just like mine, but those didn’t seem to be good enough the other day. I was snuggled on the couch with MY blanket the other day, and he looked at it for a while then came over, grabbed the corner with his mouth, pulled it off of me, dragged it to the heat vent, made a bed, got comfie, looked at a now cold me like nothing happened, huffed, and napped. Yes, I got punked by my dog. I can’t believe Sephy is 6 either! The years are flying by these days. I hope your clan is doing a good job of getting on Santa’s good list too – though really, all of the dogs would probably be quite pleased with a lump of coal to chew on for Christmas, as long as we told them they weren’t supposed to chew on it, right? Have wonderful holidays my friend!

    Hi my friend!

I hope you and your pack are doing well! I feel like it has been so long since I have checked in with you as I don’t have a working e-mail address for you anymore! The new site looks great.
I wanted to see if you could help me find a home for this sweet Shiba. He is 15 years old and his “family” ditched him at a vets office. He has had both eyes removed and is deaf. The vet is keeping him for now, but it’s certainly no place for this wonderful baby to live out his golden years. He needs a loving home. I know your home is full, but I wanted to reach out to see if you knew of anyone at all who could help in this situation. A Shiba rescue organization that we deal with frequently said they would arrange for transportation to get this sweet guy to his forever home, wherever that ends up being. Right now, he is in VT. We have had this story posted on facebook and twitter but our normal rescue homes all seem to be overwhelmed right now. This story just touches my heart so much, I can’t get it out of my mind. Please pass around to anyone who you think could help? Thank you my friend.

That aside, all is well with me and Zeus. He is 2 and acts like a respectable, responsible adult now! I never thought the day would come, but he honestly never misbehaves and we just have so much fun together. He has such a great personality. One day, I want to add a second Shiba to our pack but with Zeus’ young age and my currently limited budget, I know it isn’t a wise move right now.

Hugs and play bows to your clan,

    Jess and Zeus

Hey Jess! Great to hear from you.

Wish I could take Foxy in. He sounds like a great guy and definitely deserves a comfortable spot for his retirement. I will pass his information around and also see if my breeder knows anyone who can take in a more senior dog.

Hahaha, that is awesome. Sephy must take some lessons. I can’t believe he is 6 now (how time flies) but he is still acts like a very silly boy.

Glad to hear that Zeus is doing so well. I think he is trying to get on Santa’s “Good List” so that there will be lots of presents under the tree. 😀

Bigs hugs, Shania & Lara sends lots of licks, and Sephy sends out his cool Shiba vibes.
