Shiba Inu Sephy’s Diary

by shibashake 10 Comments

I was cleaning out Sephy’s crate this morning, and discovered his diary! I did not open it of course – he deserves his privacy after all. But I was naturally very curious.

During lunch time I asked him if I could read some of his entries and post it on this blog. After some bargaining, he finally agreed to let me post this first entry for some boiled chicken and melted cheese.

Leaving home

The day I left my mom, brother, and sister

Today started like any other day but I could sense a certain something in the air. And of course I was right, because it wasn’t long before a strange male and female came to visit. Everyone was making a fuss over them so it was pretty exciting.

They kept wanting to check me out so I strutted my stuff.

After all, I am an exceptional specimen of my breed and really of all dogs.

It wasn’t long before they tried to put a “thing” around my neck. I of course expressed my outrage. How dare they sully my pristine, primitive look!

Finally they got the “thing” on me but it took several of them to tag team me – oh the injustice!

It only went downhill from here because before I knew it I was loaded up into a wierd looking moving den with the strange male and female. Then – everything I knew and loved was left behind.

Woah, really? My shiba pup is growing at the rate of a snail. I guess some dogs grow slower than others? My pup’s 5 1/2 months old and is only 17 lbs. He actually looks like he’s 3 months or something, Lol. I’m just impatient.

Heh – Sephy is a monster Shiba. His average full-grown weight is about 35 pounds. He reached his full-grown size after about 8 months I think.

Male Shibas normally weigh about 18-25 pounds, so your Shiba puppy is actually growing at a good clip.

Woah, how did my name change to Yasmin?

No problems. I changed it back to Dennise for you. 🙂

Just out of curiosity: Do you know how much he weighed the first week you brought him home? Odd question, I know. 8D

We got Sephy at 10 weeks old and if I remember right, he weighed about 9 pounds at the time. He grew very quickly though. One minute he was a puppy, and the next he was already full grown. 😀

Nice one. But I think you mean diary, not dairy.

DOH! Thanks so much for letting me know Nicco. I can’t believe I made this mistake across every instance in the article and even in the tags. My mind is really going. 😀

      How are you and Nicco?

Again, that link to the picture did not work. You may edit it if you would like to include this link.

I’m so glad Sephy let you post the entry! With such a wonderful reward, how could he refuse?

It is a very sad taking a puppy, or any animal, away from their family. I teared up when we brought Reptar home. They just look so sad for the next few days in their new home.

Here’s a picture of Reptar’s first morning with us

He looked so sad. Kudos to Sephy for spitting on life! 🙂

Can’t wait to read some more diary entries!

Awww! He was such a little thing.

Yeah Sephy was whining/crying the entire >2hours he was in the car when we first brought him home. Very quickly though they get over it and become King of the house 😀
