If there is one thing that all dog lovers agree on – it is that puppy mills should be stopped. However, despite widespread agreement on this issue, many puppy mills still exist and are thriving. We consider why that is, and how we can all help to stop puppy mills.
My Dog Is Friendly
“My dog is friendly.”, I have heard that many times and from many people. In fact, practically every dog in my neighborhood is ‘friendly’, according to their owners. What does the friendly dog mean? Why do so many dog owners make this claim? Is the friendly dog truly friendly? Here, we consider the friendly dog, and why many of us doubt such claims.
Do We Have Enough Dog Breeds?
There are currently about 493 recognized dog breeds around the world. Some people argue we should not be breeding new types of dogs because what we have today is enough. Here, we consider dog breeding, dog cross-breeding, and whether we have enough dog breeds.
A New Puppy – First 10 Days of Hell
A new puppy is a lot of work especially in the first two weeks. Puppies require a lot of supervision during that time. They also need to be trained and socialized. Here are the first 10 crazy days that I spent with my new Siberian Husky puppy Lara.
Use Google to Help Stop Puppy Mills
When it comes to dogs, people disagree on dog training techniques, dog care, dog health, and even what to feed a dog. However, one thing that almost all dog owners agree on is that puppy mills are not a good thing. Shiba Diary – My Best Friend Kai
Shiba Inu Diary – Today, Sephy was the happiest dog in the world. He not only met an awesome playmate, but also a great friend. One of my neighbors found an abandoned puppy while she was driving home from work and she took the puppy in. The puppy was named Kai and she grew up to be a friendly, goofy, adorable dog. Every day, Sephy would wait outside Kai’s house in the hopes that she will come out to play with him. This time, Sephy really got bitten badly by the love bug!
Shiba Inu Poem
A special poem dedicated to my special boy, Shiba Inu Sephy. He is aloof, stubborn, sly, and brimming with mischief. When I first got Sephy, he was a “terror that flaps in the night”. Nowadays, he is a fun but somewhat roguish scamp. Hope you enjoy this Shiba Inu poem!
Off-Leash Neighborhood Dogs
My experiences with off-leash neighborhood dogs. While walking with my Siberian Husky we have been charged by large dogs (Akitas, GSDs, Pit-Bulls), small dogs, and all the sizes in-between. Off-leash neighborhood dogs, especially untrained off-leash dogs are dangerous because they may knock down children and seniors, start a fight with other dogs, and get hit by cars. Come share your off-leash dog story with us.
