Hello! I am looking forward to get a husky. I already had one, but sadly he had to be "put to sleep" for forever because a virus attacked his liver A cat attacked him and probably transfered the virus. But after 5 years, I think im ready! These tips will help me so much! Thank you!

My 7 month old husky loves going outside but it gets way too hot/humid. To keep cool he rolls in the grass and we also play the water hose game. Do you know any other water involved games? My Scooper will very much appreciate it. He loves moving water ( not still water, though)

I wish I had some good advise to import but what I would recommend is rescuing. There are a lot of Siberian Huskies in shelters that need a good home. Only advice I have is be patient. Huskies require a lot of patience but if you have the patience the reward is great! My husky is one of the best things that ever happened to me!

Sounds like a allergy. Try not using ANYair freshiners no fabric softeners no carpet sprinkle stuff see if that helps if not it may be a body spray or perfume that could be messing with him. My poor dog went theu so much before finding what bothered him. He should be shaved down i. The summer when the long hair touches the hot spot they lick it more. The hair will grow back in no time.

I got a 2-yr old Siberian Husky in Mandalay. Be prepared to deal with the problems of raising a Husky in a hot weather. I bought mine in Mandalay but you could go to Bangkok for a better breed.

I am not sure about the wet shirt. It is not something I have tried before on my Husky. Based on what I have read, letting a dog lie on ice packs is a good way to cool them down. In this way, their fur remains dry, but they get the cooling effect at the same time.

This article from the Whole Dog Journal has more information on how to cool a dog down and on the effectiveness of various cooling vests.

We are babysitting my son's huskie Mardi. She had surgery for both ACL's. She is with us in AZ and its hot outside. She loves the outside and has shade and I use a fan for her. I also soaked one of my shirts in water and put that on top of her. Just wondering if that is an OK idea or not.
