The Shiba dynamic WordPress theme was created to give end-users a simple way to customize their WordPress theme, without the need for PHP, Javascript, or CSS programming.
Shiba is also an image based theme, which places an emphasis on the use of graphics in the design of posts, excerpts, and comments within your blog.

Shiba Theme Customization
All theme customizations are controlled through a visual interface within your WordPress Appearance menu. This includes altering header and footer images, as well as styling the colors, borders, and backgrounds of posts and excerpts. You can assign different images and colors to posts, pages, and categories in your WordPress blog.
Other customizations, such as adding in new text segments, or adding in third-party advertisements is done through the WordPress Widget interface. The Shiba theme is widget-ready and includes two widget sidebar areas, numerous header and footer widget areas, as well as a copyright area at the bottom of the page.
Multi-column widget support is also available through the Shiba Widgets plugin.

Shiba WordPress Theme Feature List
- Blog images, colors, borders, and edges customizable directly from your WordPress administration panel through a simple visual interface. Header and footer images can be loaded from your local computer or from your WordPress Media Library.

- A variety of Shiba theme images are free and readily available for your WordPress blog.
- Different theme images can be assigned to categories, posts, and pages. This WordPress blog, for example, has different skins for many of the category groups, as well as some individual skins for some posts and pages.
- The Shiba WordPress theme supports a variety of blog edges including dark, light, thick, thin, and inverted edges. You can choose which edge option you would prefer from your WordPress Dashboard.
- Image-based comments area with its own set of alternating comment backgrounds. Comment backgrounds are set through a simple drop-down menu. Comment threading is also supported. Custom gravatars are available through the Shiba Gravatar Plugin.
- Menubars can be added with the Shiba Menubar Plugin. Simply drop the standard Custom Menu WordPress widget into the theme Menubar widget area.
- Assign the font of your choice to the main blog, widget, and comment areas.
- Customizable 404 page. Set the image or text in the page through the Shiba Themes >> Theme Options menu.
- Shiba Themes can be exported and imported using the standard WordPress import/export tool. This means Shiba themes can be easily moved from blog to blog similar to your WordPress posts.
- Internet Explorer 7 javascript support. This ensures that IE7 support will work even on cached pages.
- Tested on Firefox, IE-8, IE-7, and Chrome.

Add Your Own Border Images
You can add your own border images by transferring them to -
[WP_CONTENT]/themes/shiba/images/borders/
- Backdrop tiles are stored in the backdrop directory.
- Left borders are stored in the left directory.
- Right borders are stored in the right directory.
- Top borders are stored in the top directory.
- Bottom borders are stored in the bottom directory.

July 26th, 2010- There is now a wide sidebar option. For example, this page is rendered with a wide sidebar.
- Themes can now be assigned to blog-wide conditions such as is_front_page, is_404, is_post, is_page, etc.
- Theme objects have been converted into custom post type objects. This means that Shiba themes can now be exported and imported using the standard WordPress export/import tool.
- Theme manipulation has been significantly simplified and enhanced. You can now copy existing themes, and perform bulk operations on themes in the same way as WordPress posts and pages.

The Shiba Theme has been slimmed down so that it is cleaner, more efficient, flexible, and secure.
In particular the theme is now focused on layout and providing layout flexibility through expanded use of widget areas.
